Owl Barn Fishery South Kirkby is running a student fishing club every Tuesday after the Easter holiday during school term time till the end of the school year, 2014.

Students who participate on a regular basis will be eligible for the Minsthorpe School Angling Team that will go to the School Nationals Competition.

The Club is open to all levels of ability from years 7-11 and students will be over seen and supervised by the lake owner and level 2 National Angling Coach, Barrie Spencer, who is fully CRB checked to work with young people.

The cost of the each session is £5. This includes the fishing time from 3.30-7.00 pm, the coaching and 1 pint of maggots.

Parents are welcome to watch their son or daughter fish and will also be required to fill out a parental consent form for their child to fish and be coached. The form is obtainable from the Bait and Tackle shop on the lake site.

Students will be required to bring basic fishing equipment including an umbrella and waterproofs. A limited amount of basic kit will be able to be borrowed.
