Ofsted and Minsthorpe

As you know Ofsted inspected Minsthorpe between March 4th and 5th 2014. Please do not expect any insider information in my blog this week as we are not able to talk about the grades we received for another 15 days!

An Ofsted inspection is the key performance indicator and we have been working hard getting ready for this inspection – Ofsted judgements can have huge consequences for everyone involved with the college – teachers, students, parents and governors. Whilst education is not about grades, league tables and Ofsted, it does involve them. However, I genuinely believe that the new Ofsted inspection framework is not incompatible with a great educational experience and we welcomed this chance to show the inspectors what Minsthorpe is all about.

At Minsthorpe we have a school community that focuses on developing a success culture. The inspectors were very impressed by what they saw – the teaching, the relationship between staff and students and between the students themselves: your sons and daughters did us proud!

For me, Minsthorpe is a college that I am proud for anyone to inspect – any time, any day – because we know that what we do every day, every week, every year is to offer students great learning.

We look forward to sharing the full report with you in just under three weeks!
