Students at Minsthorpe Community College were celebrating a set of GCSE results this year which saw strong outcomes in the proportion of students achieving A*-C grades (or equivalent) in key performance indicators. This was also the first year of grading in English and maths on the new 9 to 1 GCSE grade scale. Our students fared well in these outcomes too, with many students achieving the top grade of 9.
These GCSE results, following on from the excellent A level results last week, are evidence that the College has a significant impact on student achievement over both five and seven years of education at Minsthorpe. This is evidenced by the number of students making extremely good progress over this time in a wide range of subjects.
There were many individual student successes, but in particular special mention goes to Jordan Gascoigne, Connor Hedges, Joely Rigby, Amber Allport, Daniel Riley, Leo Cooper, Ruby Ewing, Aiden Fearnley, Oliver Marshall, Kieren Rubery, Alexandra Weaver and Ross Whalley who all achieved excellent results including multiple A* and A grades.
We are delighted in congratulating all of our students, parents and staff for their hard work in achieving such an excellent set of results!
