Post-16 students at Minsthorpe Community College are celebrating a bumper crop of results this summer, continuing our upward trend in delivering the highest quality of education for young people in the area.
Two-thirds of students achieved A*-C grades in their A-levels, a ten percentage point increase on the previous year, whilst the proportion gaining the top A*-A grades more than doubled to over 14%.
These results mean that 100% of students are able to attend their first choice of university.
There were numerous individual student successes but in particular special mention goes to Ben Ramsbottom (AAB), Hannah McDermott (A*BB), Jessica Harnell (A* B Dist*) and Ross Brough and Amelia Hawkins who both secured a triple Distinction* in their BTEC Extended Diplomas.
Each year we see an improvement in sixth form results, giving our students the opportunity to continue with their education or to enter the world of work. This has been achieved as a direct result of the hard work of all our students, parents and staff and we are delighted with their results and proud of their achievements.
Furthermore, an encouraging set of AS results for our Year 12 students means that these achievements, and the opportunities that they provide, look set to continue.
