Our College strives to ensure that each student achieves his or her best from their time with us.
Our students get just one opportunity to prepare for adult life – and we know that The Minsthorpe Way prepares our students for a very successful transition to the world of further education or employment. The Minsthorpe Way describes both the journey and the way that we do things at Minsthorpe and central to this are the values Believe Achieve Succeed Enjoy and Support.
Students who have successfully travelled The Minsthorpe Way will know that, in doing so, they will have covered all the bases.
We are privileged to have a dedicated, talented and experienced team of over 300 staff who work closely with each student to develop their skills, talents and abilities to the full. In addition to developing enquiring and receptive minds, we give students a sense of belonging, pride and above all a feeling of community.
Staff and students work in partnership at Minsthorpe, giving our students clear aims for their journey with us, where our students thrive on our positive behaviour system. Our insistence on high standards of uniform and presentation means that our students are ready for their learning.
We have great expectations of all of our students and instil a ‘can do better’ mentality from the start. The student motto ‘always believe that you can achieve’ enables all students to have a sense of aspiration and ambition. The staff motto ‘no child left behind’ is our commitment to doing everything we can to try and ensure that every child achieves their ambition, and we were very proud in 2015 to be celebrating yet another fantastic year of results at both Key Stage 4 and Post 16.
The College ethos is encapsulated in the phrase, "Everybody matters, Everybody succeeds, Everybody helps". By involving everyone in ensuring that all are enabled to achieve, the College creates communities which share in the success of all when the highest of aspirational targets are set and met.
