Minsthorpe is a successful 11-18 Academy in Wakefield and is the lead school of the Encompass Careers Alliance, a collaborative partnership of thirty schools who aim to provide high quality one-to- one Careers Education and Guidance across West Yorkshire. We have secured funding from the Careers & Enterprise Company to create a hub of schools who are committed to embedding the Gatsby Benchmarks in their schools and to ensure that every student in that school receives more than the recommended one-to-one interview with a qualified Careers Guidance Professional.
Thus we are looking to appoint a Personal Guidance Professional to provide high quality, independent CEG to enable students in a variety of schools across West Yorkshire to make informed, realistic decisions about their future learning and employment pathways.
The successful candidate may have previous experience when it comes to Careers Education and Guidance but could also be a graduate candidate who is passionate about changing and shaping the lives for our young people. Candidates already possessing the QCF Level 6 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Development will find themselves at a distinct advantage. However, training for the role and relevant qualifications will be provided and funded for the right candidate! Continue reading

Are you passionate about making a difference and helping young people achieve a higher education destination? Do you want to help us achieve the targets acting as a positive role model and sharing your experiences?
Go Higher West Yorkshire (formerly HEART), a consortium of 12 Higher Education Providers in West Yorkshire, is looking to appoint a Higher Education Progression Officer to support the delivery of our HEFCE funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).
NCOP seeks to identify and address issues around progression to higher education for young people living in areas where progression is low overall, and particularly low when GCSE attainment is taken into account. Working with a selected cohort of KS4 and KS5 students from across the college, you will support their applications and transition into higher education, ensuring that all who have the potential to succeed have the opportunity to do so. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of individualised Learning Agreements for your target group, ensuring the effective involvement of parents/carers, staff and other key stakeholders in the project, and arranging events and activities. You will work within the management team and be responsible for the day to day operation of the programme.
The post will be based at Minsthorpe Community College, but will require the holder to work on a flexible basis, which will include some evening, weekend and school holiday work.
The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of our Personnel Recruitment specification and be subject to an enhanced DBS check. A prohibition from teaching check will also be completed for all applicants. Minsthorpe Community College is committed to equality of opportunity and upholding the principles of the Equality Act 2010. We positively welcome applications from all sections of the community. Only applications submitted with a completed Minsthorpe Academy Trust Application Form will be considered
Please send completed application forms to Cath Green, Director of HR & Associate Teams – email@example.com by midday on Monday 26th August 2019.
