West Yorkshire Learning Providers Network are planning to hold a major Worldskills — WYLP Skills Show Experience Event on Wednesday 7th May 2014 at Leeds United Centenary Pavilion Lowfields Road off Elland Road, Leeds, LS12 6HQ between 3:00pm and 7:00pm.
The event will be of specific interest to 14-25 year olds and will be delivered through a partnership-based approach involving colleges/learning providers, schools, employers and key stakeholders like National Apprenticeship Service and Connexions.
Students will be able to ‘Have a Go’ at interactive activities with over 40 organisations attending and offering a range of activities, For Example:
- Apache Helicopter Simulator
- Army/sports Fitness tests – rowing machine timed challenges
- Childcare
- Desktop challenges
- Electrical Installation
- Hairdressing & Beauty and Nails
- IT
- Mechanics – opportunity for people to fix up a car engine
- PLU Challenge – visitors test their memory skills
- Sport
- Welding simulator
- Wind Turbine Technology
