It’s official! A fantastic show on Wednesday and our students really shone. It was a strong field and contestants treated us to displays of singing, dancing, cheerleading and acrobatics making it very hard for the judges to pick a winner. We have four strong contenders to take to the semi against Hemsworth held here on January 20th 2015 and hopefully to go on to win at the grand final held at Wakefield Cathedral on Friday February 13th 2015 – some dates for your diary.
It was absolutely fantastic, a real testament to the variety of talented individuals who attend Minsthorpe College. Tickets for the semi-final go on sale early in the New Year so don’t miss out on what promises to be a great night as Minsthorpe defends its crown – after taking the first, second and third places in February 2014!
The event was organised by Miss Jewson and Mrs Kelly and supported by many staff (whether it be front of house, backstage or as members of the audience). In Mr Lloyd we had a compere to rival Dermott, Ant or Dec and the MGT judges made the judges on the X Factor look like amateurs – they made it their own. The evening would not have been the great success that it was without all the backroom boys and girls and the staff who put on a dance routine to Jailhouse Rock to open the show had to be seen to be believed – that was a mixture of the smooth and criminal!
Another great night. More to come – don’t forget the Happy Days Christmas Concert, the Music Department Christmas Concert, the first MCC Staff Panto and Presentation Evening in the next two weeks – phew! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
