Next week your child will be involved in 2 sessions delivered by external organisations with a focus on Road Safety and Rail Safety. On Wed the 13th November we have the theatre company ‘Riot Act’ return to us for another year to deliver their engaging dramatic performance in partnership with Safer Roads West Yorkshire to deliver ‘Deadly Distraction’ focusing on key road safety messages such as:
- Distractions such as phones and music.
- Identifying and coping with peer pressure.
- Personal responsibility and behaviour.
Also within this week they will listen to a presentation by Reece Dickinson an ex Minsthorpe student. This will be a part of their SMSC lesson for that week and will explore rail safety and careers in the industry. His intention is to share his own experiences and successes in the rail industry and to help guide young people to stay on ‘the right track’ and stay safe. Some of the content may be sensitive and therefore we ask for your support in monitoring and discussing the inputs with your child following the sessions next week.
If for any reasons you feel that your child should not take part can you please contact the college so that alternative arrangements can be made.
