Home Learning (Including Remote Learning)

Home Learning is an invaluable opportunity for you as students to continue your learning outside of the classroom. When students, staff and parents/carers work together we believe that you will make the most progress and achieve the best outcomes. Completing Home Learning tasks in a supportive environment contributes significantly to your success and encourages you to develop an ongoing positive attitude to learning and form important study habits.

Throughout the curriculum at Minsthorpe, we use a wide range of Home Learning strategies to help engage you and support you to work independently at home. We want you to take ownership of your learning, which is fundamental to your success at every stage of your educational journey.

Students in Key Stage 3 follow the Knowledge Organisers Programme for Home Learning. You can find more information about the initiative by following the link below.

Students in Key Stage 4 are set a range of Home Learning tasks by their subject teachers. All tasks are set on Satchel:One according to the needs of the individual subject area.

We will use the Satchel: One platform, including the student/parent app, for setting and monitoring Home Learning and communicating with parents/carers about the tasks that need to be completed outside the classroom. In the event of the need for remote learning, you will be directed to access tasks via Satchel:one.

If you have any issues with accessing Satchel: One, please speak to your Head of Year or Mr Ruston

If you are having difficulties completing a Home Learning task, please send a message to your teacher via Satchel: One or using your College email account.

Mr L Ruston
