English Schools Cup 3-2 Victory
Last week the boys played in the English Schools Cup game against Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School at home on the MCC Astro Turf. Both Martin Stringfellow, their lead coach, and Mr Cameron praised the team’s performance. Martin said "It was a really good game against a strong team, coming back from 1-0, the boys showed great effort and desire." Goals came from Jack Burton(1) and Zavier Elkin (2), and some great saves from Josh Heppinstall in the dying minutes capped an excellent team performance. Mr Cameron described it as a "great victory!" and went on to say "All the boys played brilliantly and were ecstatic with their achievement. Onto round 4."
League Games
On Wednesday 4th November came a 7-4 victory in a League game against John Leggott College, Scunthorpe. It was another hard fought game, having made a number of changes from Tuesday’s cup game (to give everyone a chance) the boys showed great spirit again coming from behind to win comfortably in the end. Goals came from Campbell Probert (3), Alex Tolley (1), Corey Woodward (1), Kyle Head (1) and Cameron Kilmartin (1).
