17th March 2020
We continue to follow government and Public Health England guidance regarding the Coronavirus. Minsthorpe Community College therefore remains open as normal. We will maintain College routines including snack breaks and assemblies.
Updated Self-Isolation Information
You will be aware from the most recent announcement that those with the following symptoms should self-isolate for 14 days:
- A high temperature (37.8 degrees and above)
- A new, continuous cough
This now extends to all members of the household. Parents and carers need to make the decision about their own families and inform College in the normal way of any absence.>/P>
Should you have any questions, the Department for Education has launched a new Education Coronavirus helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education. Staff, parents, carers and young people can contact the helpline as follows:
– Phone: 0800 046 8687 (opening hours: 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday)
– Email: DfE.firstname.lastname@example.org
Access to Learning
It is important that students who are well, but cannot come into College, continue to work at home. All students can access work online via Hegarty Maths, Educake Science and SENECA. Other home learning tasks and independent revision can also be completed. Teachers will provide other appropriate work as soon as they can.
The following evening events are postponed:
Thursday 26th March – Year 10 Parents’ Evening
Monday 30th March – Student Musical
Tuesday 31st March – Year 11 Exam Information Evening
Wednesday 1st April – Post 16 Parents’ Evening
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during this unprecedented time.
