Worldskills – WYLP Skills Show Experience

West Yorkshire Learning Providers Network are planning to hold a major Worldskills — WYLP Skills Show Experience Event on Wednesday 7th May 2014 at Leeds United Centenary Pavilion Lowfields Road off Elland Road, Leeds, LS12 6HQ between 3:00pm and 7:00pm.

The event will be of specific interest to 14-25 year olds and will be delivered through a partnership-based approach involving colleges/learning providers, schools, employers and key stakeholders like National Apprenticeship Service and Connexions.

Students will be able to ‘Have a Go’ at interactive activities with over 40 organisations attending and offering a range of activities, For Example:

  • Apache Helicopter Simulator
  • Army/sports Fitness tests – rowing machine timed challenges
  • Childcare
  • Desktop challenges
  • Electrical Installation
  • Hairdressing & Beauty and Nails
  • IT
  • Mechanics – opportunity for people to fix up a car engine
  • PLU Challenge – visitors test their memory skills
  • Sport
  • Welding simulator
  • Wind Turbine Technology

WYLP is a non-for-profit organisation working with local authorities and the National Apprenticeship Service to promote Apprenticeships and vocational pathways.
